The initial group of Nigerian pilgrims has arrived in Bauchi, Kebbi, Abuja, and Owerri.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the successful return of the first group of Nigerian pilgrims who took part in the 2025 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
As stated by Shafii Mohammed, the Principal Information Officer of the Commission, a total of 1,310 pilgrims have returned to Nigeria via four distinct flights from Jeddah.
This includes a Maxair flight (VM269) that carried 551 pilgrims along with seven officials to Bauchi, and a Flynas flight (XY9006) that transported 413 pilgrims and six officials to Kebbi.
Additionally, two other airlines were involved in the initial phase of the return.
UMZA’s flight (UY3534) brought 41 pilgrims and 122 officials to Abuja, while an Air Peace flight (APK7901) transported 305 pilgrims and seven officials to Owerri.
NAHCON has reported that around 63,000 Nigerians participated in this year’s pilgrimage.
The Commission has assured the public that the return operations are being meticulously managed to ensure the safety and well-being of the pilgrims.
