Israel Have An Army, We're Not Waiting For Those Who Want To Destroy Us To Surprise Us—Danny Danon
Danny Danon
Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, has strongly defended Israel’s latest military campaign against Iran, describing it as a necessary step to protect not only Israeli citizens but global security.
In a statement released on his verified Twitter account, Danon announced that Israel had launched “Operation Rising Lion,” targeting key Iranian nuclear and missile sites.
Danon emphasized that the mission’s objective is to dismantle what he described as an “existential and immediate threat” posed by the Iranian regime. According to him, Iran is not only advancing toward nuclear weapons in defiance of international agreements but is also fueling regional instability through a network of proxy terrorist groups.
“When the world is silent – Israel is acting,” Danon declared, criticizing the international community for failing to curb Iran’s ambitions. He called on United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and Security Council members to take a clear moral stance, urging them to support Israel’s actions or risk complicity through inaction.
Highlighting Israel’s strengthened military capabilities and political will, Danon stated, “Unlike in the past – today we have a state, we have an army, and we are not waiting for those who want to destroy us to surprise us.”
Danon’s statement comes amid heightened regional tensions following Israel’s reported airstrikes on several Iranian military and nuclear installations, which allegedly resulted in the deaths of top Iranian military leaders and scientists. The operation marks a significant escalation in the long-standing conflict between the two nations.
