Transfer: Liverpool agree deal for Wirtz, Chelsea set to terminate defender’s contract

Liverpool have finally reached a verbal agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for the signing of Florian Wirtz.


The Reds made a breakthrough in negotiations on Tuesday, according to The Athletic.

Wirtz had since decided on Anfield as his preferred destination ahead of Manchester City and Bayern Munich.


An agreement has now been reached which could total €150m (£126.9m) if all the add-ons are met.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are looking to terminate Axel Disasi’s contract with the club.

Juventus have made enquiries about Disasi’s situation at Stamford Bridge following his loan stint at Aston Villa.


The 27-year-old’s time with the Blues is about to end and the two parties will “mutually terminate the player’s contract”.
